Standing Up for Community

Inaãra was born in the aftermath of two significant events that have greatly impacted the unorganized rural economy of India. Communities that relied heavily on the patronage of foreign buyers seeking quality products.

Demonetization of the currency in circulation was a death knell for many of these communities that were reliant on cash based transactions, and while still recovering from its effects, the COVID lockdown came about as a nail in the coffin. The consequent global economic downturn has brought about a permanent change in the production and market reach of handcrafted products.

Inaãra came about with the aim of supporting these artisan communities and businesses, and joining the effort of thousands of other businesses rooted in Indian handicrafts to ensure that the heritage crafts survive for future generations, and that the craftsmen are not forced out of the professions that they are proud of and enjoy practicing.

Two Cultures One Mission

We are more than a brand, we are a cultural bridge. Our commitment to preserving artisanal traditions is synchronistic with Qatar’s dedication to cultural legacy and cross-cultural dialogue. Through multiple initiatives Qatar has actively invested in safeguarding its own traditions while fostering cross-cultural appreciation, and this serves as a strong inspiration to us to continue bringing authentic artistic traditions of India to the region.

We design and create for the Qatari customer, bringing to life not just Qatari symbols of culture in Indian craft forms, but also developing products to suit the fine requirements of life in the middle eastern region, and its cultural preferences.

DIRECT WITH ARTISAN

There is a vast variety of unique and exquisite items that come to life under the skillful hands of Indian artisans, who are part of small communities that have inherited their skills from their forefathers. Many of our partners are award winning artists who have worked tirelessly for the betterment of their craft and community. Our relationships with our artisans stand above every market dynamic and we are proud to be part of the larger community working towards reviving and sustaining heritage crafts.
