A large shawl often used by our customers as a blanket/throw/table cloth. This traditional Bhujodi shawl has been made from acrylic yarn and is durable and easy to maintain. It's perfect for outdoor gatherings or for travelling.
Bhujodi shawls are handwoven in a five hundred year old tradition by a small community of 'vankars' in the Bhujodi region of Kutch, Gujarat. Woven on pit looms, the authentic shawls are made with handspun country wool, which is coarse in texture. As the art developed to cater to commercial needs, a variety of blends have been introduced that offer softer and easier-to-maintain versions. Those blended with tussar (moth) silk are extremely popular for their refined, regal look.
