Handpainted Jaipur Blue Pottery Wall Plate
A bold and bright wall plate to bring a touch of vibrancy to your walls.

Jaipur blue pottery is an evocative visual history of the trade exchanges that existed in Asia for many millenia. It is believed that the original techniques originated with the Mongols, who married the glazing techniques of China with that of floral painting of Persia to give rise to this distinct form.

It was brought to India during the Mughal era and eventually flourishing in Jaipur under Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh II in the 19th century. The craft was introduced by visiting potters from Agra, who were then invited by the Maharaja to establish the art form in his city. It is a no-clay pottery technique that uses a distinctive cobalt blue dye for its vibrant colors and is known for its decorative ceramic items, unlike other traditional Indian pottery.

Plaid Handwoven Fine Wool Bhujodi Stole
The fine wools of Bhuj have a unique cotton-like texture and are so easy to wear and maintain. This pure wool is in a classic Indian checks pattern with a lovely kutchi border and tassles finished by hand.

Bhujodi shawls are handwoven in a five hundred year old tradition by a small community of 'vankars' in the Bhujodi region of Kutch, Gujarat. Woven on pit looms, the authentic shawls are made with handspun country wool, which is coarse in texture. As the art developed to cater to commercial needs, a variety of blends have been introduced that offer softer and easier-to-maintain versions. Those blended with tussar (moth) silk are extremely popular for their refined, regal look.
